Meet our church staff:

[edit] Pastor Alan Delamater

Senior Pastor

Alan Delamater (Pastor Al) came to Shenedehowa in July 2006 after serving eight years as a District Superintendent in the Adirondack District of The Troy Annual Conference. He has served as a pastor and on the pastoral staff of churches in Albany, Burnt Hills, Jonesville and Rotterdam. Alan has also worked as a social worker/family therapist and as a therapist in an area counseling center.

Alan understands his call to pastoral ministry to be centered in helping all people develop a relationship with the loving and gracious God who walks beside them throughout their life's journey. He is also committed to the idea that there is not only deeply meaningful life in that journey but a lot of laughter and fun along the way. Alan also understands God’s love and grace as unconditional and open to all persons without exception. He seeks to serve God and pastor in a way in which the vision of the United Methodist Church will be a reality wherever he serves, “Open hearts, Open Minds and Open Doors.”

Alan is married to Deborah Roberts-Delamater and has two step children, Matthew and Sarah, both of whom are currently pursuing their life’s work in their chosen fields.
