[edit] We Sponsor A Reading Program

Shenendehowa United Methodist Women has an ongoing reading program for the women of SUMC. Read a book from the list and put your name on the poster. Once you have read one from each section, you will be given a certificate from the conference on UMW day.

The purpose of the reading program is to encourage women, through reading, to become…. Informed… understanding of and motivated to participation of God’s Mission today; Sensitive…to all human beings, their needs interests and concerns; Alert…to and knowledgeable about issues facing humankind today to which the Gospel Speaks; Aware…of who one is and what one can do through self-understanding.

UMW and the Circles purchase books for the program. They are chosen from the UMW book list and are located in the southwest corner of Fellowship Hall. If you wish to purchase a book for the reading program, contact a UMW Officer.
